Slave
~~~~~~~Wolf’s P.O.V.~~~~~~~
*Loud frantic screaming* What is that? I got up from my bed and ran down the hall. It sounds like (Name). I should hurry. I opened the door quickly to see her thrashing around and screaming in her sleep. I hurry over and try to calm her down. It takes some time but eventually she stops, even wakes up. Is she crying? She’s so quiet but the droplets flowing from her eyes are clear enough. The look in her eyes though, it was a look of pure horror. Almost like she had witnessed the worst thing in the world. I couldn’t hold back my desire to comfort her, pulling her close and letting her cry. Her sobs became more and more frantic until they completely died away.
“Feel better?”I said petting her hair lightly in a comforting way.  She seems so fragile right now. All week, since I brought her here, she has been opinionated and kind and has insisted on ‘pulling her own weight’ as she had said. I didn’t think she had such a delicate side.
“Y-yeah, I’m sorry.” I pulled away from her. She looked so sad. “Why are you sorry? Geez it’s not your fault.” “right.” She still looked like she was blaming herself though. For what? Waking me up? Causing a fus? Or something else? I stood up and looked down at her. “You gonna be okay?” “Yeah, I’ll be fine.” I wasn’t convinced but I left anyway. She probably needs a moment.
~~~~~~~Hours later reader’s P.O.V.~~~~~~~
I can’t really remember what I dreamt about. I can only faintly remember a dark and dingy room and not being able to move. I sigh looking over to Tobi and Kiji, they are helping me shop. I finally feel well enough to go out so now I can finally get actual clothes. I look down at what I had on. It was an outfit I just got. It was a pretty cute dress I suppose. The shoes were comfortable at least. I only really put this one on because Tobi and Kiji were practically begging me to wear it.
Suddenly I felt a pain in my side. I looked down and saw blood. Mine. How? Then I felt a burning around my neck. *whistle* “Well well well, look what we have here, the boss's favorite toy.” I could feel everything drain out of me as I began to feel the same burning on my wrists. That voice. I remember it, and this feeling too. I could feel my mind flood with the memories of my past. Horrible memories. Ones I wish were not my own. It made me want to cry, but I didn’t. Instead I looked to the man who had ambushed me. A demon that looked similar to a lion. That’s right, Leo, his main henchman. He works for the man who basically runs the black market. I gave him my best defiant look. I could see that Tobi and Kiji had only been knocked unconscious. Good they will live.  I’m sorry I brought this trouble on you. “So slave, hope you are ready, because the boss has been itching to discipline you.” I spat in his face, it earned me a slap but I don’t care. I won’t go back easy.
A few hard tugs and some struggling later and I was shoved into a cage. It had wheels and four big men pulling it. They were clearly slaves as well. “Too bad about your dress, it’s all covered in blood, and it was probably the nicest thing you ever received. Maybe when the boss see’s you in it he will let you be one of his ‘special’ girls instead of just his torture play thing.” I kicked him as hard as I could in the shin. He swore and shoved me back into the cage, forcefully. My back hit the cage wall hard. It hurt like hell. I still won’t submit. “I’ll deal with you later.” Bring it.
After a few minutes the cage stopped next to a convenience store. Leo sent two of his men in and came to the cage door. “Well little lady let’s deal with you.” He opened the door and climbed in. I moved to the side to try to avoid him in the small space. I need to get out of here. I was almost able to squeeze out and away from him but he pinned me to the cage wall. I could tell where he was trying to go with this. Hell no would I let that happen. “Nowhere to go darlin.” I headbutted him using all the strength I had, my forehead making contact with his nose. Good. Then I quickly ran to the cage door, but he grabbed my leg and I fell face first out of the cage. My forehead crashing with the ground. It was definitely bleeding.
I’m not too sure what happened next, the contact with the ground had scattered my ability to process things. I could faintly hear yelling, but that was it. Blood started falling down my face and I had to close my eyes. I held my hand over it trying to stop the bleeding.
After breathing deeply I forced myself to sit up. Why hasn’t he grabbed me yet? I can’t see anything. Listen maybe you’ll hear something. All I hear are sounds of fighting? I’m not sure. If my movement wasn’t so limited I could probably clear the blood from my eyes and open them. The bleeding hasn’t stopped, I’ve lessened it but it hasn’t stopped. The wound in my side has probably re-opened, the wetness sliding down from my him was evidence enough of that. At this rate I’ll bleed out.
After a few moments everything went quiet except for the sound of approaching footsteps. Moment of truth. Let’s see if we can learn what happened. “Hey you okay?” Was that Wolf? How did he even find me? Not that I’m complaining the save is very welcome. “Yeah, just bleeding out is all, no biggie.” “If you are going to be sarcastic then I will leave you here.” “Sorry, sorry, couldn’t help it.” I could hear keys and I could feel the cuffs moving. Is he trying to take them off?
It took a bit but eventually the cuffs and even the collar came off and fell to the ground. I used the hand not covering my head to try to clear the blood off my eyes. It didn’t really work. Then I felt myself being lifted off the ground. Did he just, pick me up? “Oi, put me down, I can still walk!” “How you gonna walk when you can’t even see?” I shut my mouth. He had me there. I’m already clumsy as is. “Just this once.” I could almost feel his smirk. He was having fun with this. How rude.
I could hear bells when he pushed a door open. A shop or business then. “Oh dear what happened!?” It was a man but his voice was high like a woman's. “Quick  May get the doc!” The same voice. I could feel myself getting weaker, I’ve lost so much blood. “Whats… well shit bring her this way!” A deeper male voice. I could tell we were moving again.
~~~~~~~About an hour later~~~~~~~
I feel much better now that I’m all patched up and eating. The door opens and I look to see Wolf walking in. “Heh, miss me?” He laughed. “You’d like that wouldn’t you.” “Awe you wound me! Look at me bleeding all over the place.” “You know, you get any more sarcastic and I’ll have to abandon you.” “Oh so you wanted to keep me? How sweet.” “Bye.” “Wait wait wait I was kidding don’t actually abandon me!” He turned back and walked in, sitting in the chair next to the bed.
After a few moments I look back to him. “Are Kiji and Tobi okay? Last I saw they were passed out in the middle of the road.” “Yeah they are tough enough to survive that, they’ll be over soon. Seems like they have grown attached to you.” I laughed. “Don’t know how that happened.”
Silence. “Hey thanks, you didn’t need to save me but you did, I appreciate it.” He nodded. “No problem.” I sighed looking up to the ceiling, as though it would make me feel better. “I remembered.” “What?” “I remembered my past. I was a slave.” “A slave?” “Yeah, I wasn’t alone, there were others. We were forced to mine for things that our ‘master’ would sell on the black market. Some days we got a break and only would be forced to clean his home. If we didn’t behave,” I paused, “I was never good at doing as I was told.”
~~~~~~~Wolf’s P.O.V.~~~~~~~
She’s a slave? I don’t know why this makes me so angry. She looks sad, that just pisses me off more. She deserves so much more. Watching her earlier I could tell she was indeed strong willed. The guy holding her had clearly been much stronger than her but she stood up to him anyway. She even headbutted him. Even though the restraints on her had suppressed her abilities she still stood tall against him. I had hurried and it’s good I did. What he was about to do to her. Awful. I need to not think about it.
Wait, is she my type? Do I actually like her, in that way? It makes sense. I feel flustered around her and all I want to do is tease her. I hate seeing her hurt and when she is I just want to, eliminate the threat. I look at her again. She’s so beautiful, even with that bandage on her head. Seven stitches is what the doctor said, that’s not counting the ones in her hip. She fought hard against her captors considering. The burn marks around her neck and wrists look much better than when I had first found her. I need to do better at protecting her. Her old master will probably come back.
“I’ll keep you safe.” “What?” She looked surprised. “I won't let you fall into slavery again.” She looked away from me. “Stupid, you don’t just say stuff like that.” Was she embarrassed? Damn that’s cute.
*Knocking* “Hey boss you there? Can we come in?” Kiji. “Yeah come on in.” The door opened and they came inside. Tobi gasped. “(Name) are you alright!? I am so sorry we didn’t protect you.” “Yeah we will do better next time!” Kiji spoke up. (Name) had laughed at them. “Don’t worry about it boys It’s alright.” Beautiful. I love hearing her talk.
She has a knack for getting hurt doesn’t she? I’ll have to really watch her. What if she starts to think I’m creepy though? Uhg why do I have to feel this way. Pull yourself together stupid. I look back to her. Geeze. Laughing and smiling with Tobi and Kiji. She’s too cute. I feel like I need a nap now dammit.
